Mother of brain damaged child awarded $31 Million dollars
$31 Million dollars was awarded by a jury to a woman who experienced negligent care during the labor of son and caused him to develop cerebral palsy from oxygen deprivation. It is believed to be the largest medical malpractice award in Arizona history. The jury found Banner Health to be 57% responsible while the doctor was found to be 43% responsible. Banner Health claimed that important fetal heart monitoring records were “lost”, which the jury found suspicious.
