Couple Awarded $9 Million in Medical Malpractice Case

In Waterbury, Connecticut, a jury recently decided in favor of a Plymouth couple. They were awarded $9 million due to a medical mishap during a procedure at a Bridgeport medical practice in 2014.

What Happened?

The patient was on an imaging table during a procedure.  The table collapsed, and the patient and his wife blamed the table collapse for the patient’s subsequent medical problems.

The Verdict:

The jury held radiologic technologist responsible for 100% of the damages suffered by the patient.  A physician who was also sued was found not to be responsible.

Total Compensation:

The couple will receive a total of $14.4 million after interest is added to the $9 million verdict.

This case highlights the importance of patient safety and accountability during medical procedures.
